Voxette

VOXETTE is the Christchurch-based duo of Emily Browning and Phoebe Hurst. The pair met in high-school through their music department, but it wasn’t until late 2014 that they began playing music together. With a love of old school R'n'B jams, classic rock standards and fizzy contemporary pop, you can expect a VOXETTE set to be wide and varied, giving each song their own unique spin.

EMILY BROWNING

Emily Browning is a Christchurch based vocalist and guitarist known for her solid groove, entertaining style and unique song arrangements. Her style brings a more modern, soulful vibe to the occasion based on her jazz training and groove influences. As a full time musician, she gigs regularly around Christchurch and is in her final year of study toward a Bachelor of Musical Arts. in between study and gigs, she also teaches vocals part time and writes original music, meaning most of her daily life is dedicated to her music career.

PHOEBE HURST

Phoebe Hurst is an accomplished and skilled vocalist, having sung all her life from day dot. She has an extensive range of both music and acting experience to draw from, completing a bachelor degree in Acting from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School, in 2011. As a solo artist, Phoebe has released two EP’s of her own original music, performed at Homegrown music festival in Wellington and undertaken a tour of New Zealand. Phoebe was also listed as a semi-finalist in the Performance Category of the 2016 International Songwriting Competition.
